Hello fellow globetrotters!
It has been a while, hasn’t it? Our office, along with the rest of the world, went through quite the rollercoaster of the COVID-19 pandemic. But guess what? We not only weathered the storm but emerged even more dedicated to reconnecting with our community, both in Portland and around the world, so let us reintroduce ourselves!
Willamette International Travel (WIT), established in August 1977 by the intrepid Christina Cooper, is a local, woman-run travel agency born out of a passion for exploration. As Christina heads towards a well-deserved retirement, our dream team – Becki Holt, Kathryn Stewart, Barb Baumer, Pam Davis, and Nancy Fowler – is here to be your trusty travel confidant!
If you haven’t yet, it may be time to shake off the pandemic slumber and jump back into the metaphoric saddle! The past years have been a surreal adjustment period, with the global pandemic disrupting our lives and forcing us to adapt to a new way of living and traveling.
At WIT, we get it. We understand that things have changed for many of us, and that is why we have stayed flexible and adaptable to this ever-changing world. Having stability during a very unconventional time truly allowed us to flourish, thanks to the hard work of our agents who ensured our clients were taken care of amidst the chaos of cancellations and rebookings of many long-anticipated trips.
Undoubtedly, our team has remained steady at the helm from the 2020 lockdown until now. It was honestly due to you, our clients and friends, who would call us to reminisce about the amazing places you all had visited that kept our morale alive. The travel memories we shared with our community, chuckled over, with sentences often starting with “Remember when you sent us to…” reminded us why we chose this industry in the first place. We want to express our utmost appreciation for all of you who stood by us during this time.
